DMCC signed a strategic partnership with Swedish fintech pioneer Vermiculus. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reaffirms the DMCC’s broader ambition to accelerate innovation and enhance Dubai’s position as a global hub for technology, trade and innovation, supporting almost 26,000 companies across its ecosystem.
In detail, the DMCC Vermiculus MoU will allow the partners to explore collaboration in the deployment of critical financial technology solutions. To highlight, these financial technology solutions will expand towards exchanges, clearing houses, and central securities depositories, including knowledge transfer initiatives and joint projects.
As the leading international business district that drives the flow of global trade through Dubai, DMCC solidifies its position as a critical power hub in the city with this Swedish fintech UAE partnership. What’s more, the partnership strengthens economic and commercial ties between the United Arab Emirates and Sweden.
As the parent of the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC) and the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), this new partnership aligns with the DMCC’s broader technology roadmap and reinforces its role as a key driver and promoter of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across various sectors.
The Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, says, “Innovation is reshaping the future of trade and finance. By signing this MoU with Vermiculus, we’re laying the groundwork for collaboration that drives knowledge exchange, technology adoption and new opportunities for nearly 26,000 companies in our community. This MoU complements our existing partnerships by exploring fintech solutions that further enhance DMCC’s broader ecosystem, advancing our mission to help global businesses thrive from Dubai.”
Meanwhile, Founder and Chairman of Vermiculus, Nils-Robert Persson, says, “At Vermiculus, our focus is on delivering cutting-edge technology that meets the mission-critical needs of exchanges and financial institutions worldwide. With over 25 years of experience working with some of the world’s largest exchanges, clearing houses and CSDs, our team combines deep expertise with innovation to ensure unmatched quality and reliability in every solution we provide. Partnering with DMCC, one of the world’s most dynamic business districts, provides a unique opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and growth. We look forward to combining our expertise with DMCC’s vision to drive innovation and support the future of global trade.”
Since its establishment in 2019, Vermiculus has built its reputation backed by decades of expertise in developing next-generation, cloud-native systems for exchanges, and clearing houses and central securities depositories. To highlight, the entity combines advanced system design with AI-driven capabilities, enabling financial institutions to operate with greater resilience, scalability, and efficiency.
The MoU between DMCC and Vermiculus not only strengthens UAE-Sweden trade relations in fintech and other sectors, but also sheds light on the shared focus on advancing innovation and technology-driven growth. Besides boosting the city’s commercial, economic, and technological sectors, the collaboration encourages innovation before all else.
Thus, by forging greater collaboration with a global fintech leader, that is Vermiculus, DMCC technology continues to attract high-impact partnerships aimed at reinforcing Dubai’s role as an international hub for business and innovation, resulting in a ripple effect and further driving the success of all of Dubai’s other popular sectors, such as tourism, real estate, and infrastructure.
