Updated: Apr 04, 2025, 04:56 PM
On April 3rd, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and Ajman Free Zones Authority (AFZA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to streamline the process of freehold ownership of land and property in Dubai for companies registered in AFZA. The collaboration supports efforts to enhance synergy between the government bodies.
In detail, the Memorandum aims to establish a clear legal and regulatory framework to enable AFZA-registered companies to own freehold real estate assets under their corporate umbrellas, simplifying Dubai property ownership processes.
Director-General of the Dubai Land Department Marwan bin Ghalita and Director-General of the Ajman Freezones Authority Ismail An Naqi signed the agreement in Dubai. Senior representatives from both parties attended the signing.
“This memorandum charts a course for amplified collaboration with AFZA, a synergy that will empower our mission to cultivate the property market and establish an enticing investment ecosystem aligned with Dubai’s forward-looking vision,” said Marwan bin Ghalita.
Ismail Al Naqi stated that AFZA remains committed to pioneering inventive solutions to streamline investor journeys and contribute to elevating the UAE’s investment appeal. “This partnership with DLD represents a significant leap forward in enabling businesses to confidently and efficiently grow their real estate investments within an integrated system that safeguards investor interests and provides a vibrant business environment.”
The collaboration ultimately aims to create more efficient real estate registration procedures and cultivate greater regulatory adaptability between the two emirates. As a result, the UAE gains a more fortified position as a distinguished global hub for business and real estate investment.
